1) God is our healer
Exodus 15:26 “I am the Lord, who heals you.” From this verse, the Israelites gave God the name “Jehovah Rapha”, which means “The lord, your healer”. God was teaching the Israelites who He was, as they had spent many years in captivity in Egypt and had forgotten who God was. God is still the same healer he was back then today, there is nowhere in the Bible that says that God stopped being our healer. He is more than capable of healing us and more than willing to release Heaven into our situation.
2) It is always God’s will to heal
Matthew 8:2,3 “‘Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean’. Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man, “I am willing,” he said “Be clean!'” Jesus never turned anyone away who cam to Him to receive healing. It was, and still is, always His will to heal us fully. There is never any circumstance where He would not be willing to heal your body.
3) God doesn’t give us sickness to teach us a lesson.
God gives only good things to those who love Him, so to give us sickness in order to teach us a lesson would be going against His very character and would be denying Jesus of the work He did on the cross. Jesus talks about in Matthew 7:9-11 just how much God loves us, and that He would never give us anything bad. He would never trick us by giving us a snake instead of a fish, He would never give us a sickness instead of health. We learn from Romans 8:28 that God makes all things work for the good of those who love Him, so, whatever you are faced with, God can turn that for the good. It doesn’t mean that He gave us the sickness to teach us something, but He can teach us something as we move through the sickness we have and into His perfect health.
4) God trusts us more than we think
Ephesians talks about how God has made available to us EVERY spiritual blessing in the heavenly places (Eph. 1:3), and Paul then goes on to say that we are seated in heavenly places (2:6) in order to act as an example to those around us of the grace and love of God. God must trust us to raise us up into the heavenlies and give us full access to every spiritual blessing. Paul also says in his prayer over the church, that he wants them to understand that they have the same power that rose Christ from the grave living within them. If God didn’t trust us, then why would He make all this available to us? When we pray for the sick, we pray from heaven to earth, we pray with the knowledge that we have the same power that rose Christ from the grave living within us, that’s a lot of power!
5) God is bigger than any sickness
The devil would love to trick us into believing the lie that the sickness we are dealing with is too big for God to deal with. Too often we fall into the trap of imagining the devil to at the same level as God, when the reality is that the devil is a fallen angel, he really is no match for God. We need to align ourselves to the answer, the solution, and refuse to allow ourselves to be conned into believing lies about God. When David was faced with Goliath, he didn’t look at the giant and become overwhelmed, he looked beyond, he looked at God, the solution, and overcame the giant. Whatever “giant” you are faced with regarding your health today, God is always bigger. It is always His will to heal you and bring you into full healing and restoration.
6) God is love
1 john 4:16 says that “God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.” For God to be living within us, there should be no room for any sickness or pain. Sometimes we receive healing instantly, sometimes its a process. The important thing to remember is that God is love, He is within us working all things out for our good, and sooner rather than later, our physical bodies will catch up to the reality of this truth. God is love. He is in love with you.
7) You are not too old to receive healing
Many people say to us that they are too old to be healed, or have come to the end of their lives and therefore have become content with the pain they have in their bodies. I believe that to be a lie. The Bible is full of stories where God used older people to carry out remarkable things. Abraham was a hundred years old when he had his first son. Hezekiah was given a further fifteen years to live. In the book of Acts, Peter and John heals the crippled beggar (Acts 3:1-10), and later on we read that the people were utterly amazed by this healing, as the man was over forty years old! (Acts 4:22). You are not too old to receive your healing. God still has a plan for you here, a plan to bring your prosperity and hope, not to bring you harm. (See Jeremiah 29:11)
8) God is still able to heal you regardless of how long you have had you sickness/pain
There can be a real struggle within those of us who have been dealing with a sickness for a number of years, and many of us begin to learn how to put up with our ailments, and pretty soon we have stopped pursuing healing altogether. I want to encourage you today, press in for your healing. Just because you have had it for a while now, doesn’t mean God cannot take it away in an instant. Renew your strength and confidence in Him today. When Jesus healed the man at the pool of Bethesda, that man had been an invalid for thirty eight years. (John 5:1-15). In an instant, Jesus healed this man from a lifetime of affliction. He has done it before, He can do it again for you today!
9) Jesus died on the cross so that we may be healed
Isaiah 53:5 tells us that “by his (Jesus) wounds we are healed. The work Jesus did on the cross over two thousand years ago not only cancels out our sins and brings us into relationship with God the Father, but also brings healing to our bodies.
10) You are worthy to receive your healing
The truth is, God loves you, is crazy about you, can’t stop thinking about you. You are more than worthy to receive all of God’s blessings for you in your life. There is nothing you can do to make Him love you any more than He already does. Jesus declared that He is the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6). He gives life to those who call on Him, and healing to those who come to Him..
